Spring is a reluctant actor during early April in Wisconsin, and that will be evidenced by forecasts of a quick hit of overnight snow.
The National Weather Service is expecting a cold front to provide the needed energy for up to an inch of wet snow as it pushes through the area, mainly between 2 and 8 a.m. on Monday. That the weekend featured seasonable temperatures, it’s likely that only elevated and grassy surfaces will retain any accumulation, but a brief window of snowfall rates between a quarter and a half inch per hour northeast of a Fond du Lac to Milwaukee line could make for reduced visibility and wet roadways.
Although most snowfall capable of causing trouble should be out by midday, drier air should eventually end the activity entirely, setting the stage for a cold night in the low 20s, and a sunny Tuesday with highs in the upper 30s.
