Fay Rogene Scholten, 71, of Gibbsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Fay was born on October 26, 1953, to Warren and Lucille (Voskuil) Tenpas in Sheboygan. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1971.
Fay was united in marriage to Don Scholten on September 9, 1972, at Gibbsville Reformed Church.
She was a certified ophthalmic assistant and worked at Sheboygan Eye Associates for 21 years. Fay enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and was a talented baker. She loved more than anything, spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.
Fay is survived by her husband, Don; sons, Jason (Rhonda) Scholten, Michael (Becky) Scholten, Joel (Stacy) Scholten; grandchildren, Greg, Austin, Mason, Dylan, Willa, Brock, and Gavin; sister, Donna (Jim) Davies; brothers, Steve (Nancy) Tenpas, Randy (Mary Jo) Tenpas; siblings-in-law, David (Faye) Ludens, Lori Scholten, Ann Herzog, Myra (Todd) Felsinger. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law; and brothers-in-law, Donald DeBlaey and Mark Scholten.
A memorial service to celebrate Fayโs life will be held at Gibbsville Church on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:30am.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday, April 7 from 4:00-7:00pm and again at church on Tuesday from 9:30am until the time of service.
