It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Suzanne
โSueโ J. Wals. Mom passed away Friday, March 28 th , 2025, at her home in Plymouth,
surrounded by her familyโs love.
She was born on August 21, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI to Robert J. and Alice M. Stoll, the oldest of
seven children. She spent her early years in Milwaukee, Rhinelander and Sun Prairie before
moving to Plymouth where she graduated from Plymouth High School in 1970. It was in high
school that she formed a group of friends that remained close her whole life.
On January 26, 1974, she married Barry J. Wals in Plymouth, where they raised their three
children. Barry preceded her in death in 2002.
Throughout her working years, she held various office and caregiver jobs in Plymouth forming
many lasting friendships. Her most rewarding role was being a stay-at-home mom and taking
care of other children in her home.
Mom possessed remarkable creativity and an exceptional sense of style. She loved to help
others, especially her family, create beautiful spaces in their homes. Her classy style and
elegance were also apparent in social settings often being the most fashionable in the room.
Mom loved the simple things in life. Old movies and TV shows, chats with family and friends,
shopping with her sisters, and long weekends at the A-frame in Three Lakes, WI. Spending time
there with her family was very important to her, but we all know her favorite part was the full
throttle boat rides around the Chain of Lakes.
Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. The bond she had with them was unmatched.
From their birth to her final moments, they brought her pure happiness and joy. She took
immense pride in being their โKrammaโ.
Sue was reunited in heaven with: her husband, Barry; daughter, Katie; her parents, Bob and
Alice Stoll; parents-in-law, Orton โBudโ and Mary Wals; sister-in-law, Cassie Stemper; nephew,
Jerry Gibson; and her godmother, Aunt Gino Stoll. We know the reunion was nothing short of
spectacular! She was also preceded in death by other family members and friends.
She is survived by: her two children, Chris (Angie Watson) Wals and Jamie (Jesse) Schneider;
grandchildren, Maggie and Bennet Schneider; siblings, Jenny (Chuck) Gibson, John (Debbie)
Stoll, Mark (dear friend, Karen) Stoll, Chris (MG) Stoll, Tom (Lana) Stoll, and Laura (Steve)
Sartori; sister-in law, Bonnie (Ron) Knobel and their children Carol, Kathy and Mike; Godfather,
Uncle Dick (Maryann) Stoll; Goddaughter, Ali Dellger; nieces and nephews: Jenny (Dale)
Schilder; Shawn Gibson, Danny (Cait) Stoll, Nikki (Chris) Olthoff, Liza (Troy) Struve, Brooke
(Sonny) Zuliani, Jack (Carolyn) Stoll, Grace Stoll, Sarah Stoll, Jane Stoll, Sarah (Ryan Wilsing)
Stemper; Her very special cousins: Jim Stoll, Jeff (Pam) Stoll, Gary Stoll and Wendy (Bob)
Goldman; other cousins and family members and her many great-nieces and nephews that she
loved so dearly. She is also survived by her best friend since kindergarten, Mary Rohmeyer, and
her โGrand-dogโ Bonzo, who brought her much comfort especially in her last weeks.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6 th , 2025 at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from
1:00 PM โ 3:00 PM; with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 PM. Pastor Dale Miller will
officiate. Mom will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter at the Greenbush
Cemetery during a private service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin in

Our family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to: Judi and Dale Miller for ALL they
have done for our Mom over the years. How blessed she was to have lived so close to such
caring friends who were always looking out for her. Also thank you to Dr. Murthy for his
compassionate and straightforward care. She valued her relationship with him often
mentioning that "he never gave up on me." As well as her entire team at Sharon S. Richardson,
especially MaryAnn and Amy. Without all of your support, we would not have been able to
fulfill her wish to spend her last moments at home.
