Hydrologists with the National Weather Service report that the Moderate Drought conditions that dominated Sheboygan County for the past several weeks have improved. As of Thursday, all but the far northwest corner of Sheboygan County – which was entirely normal for this time of year – was “Abnormally Dry”, a step below actual drought, and conditions were forecast to trend towards even more favorable conditions.
All regions affected in Sheboygan County have been relieved of drought by recent rain and snowfall events, even though February was the 25th driest out of the past 131 years of record. Combined with January, 2025 so far has been the driest year since records were first kept in 1894, though March precipitation wasn’t yet figured into the results. That will eventually even out the record a bit, as rain and snow combined have been nearly 3/4 inch more than usual to this point in the month.
Precipitation over the next 30 days is likely to be generous compared to normal, while temperatures are given even odds of being either normal, or either side of that.
