Christine “Chris” Elizabeth Rupnik, age 88, passed away on March 25, 2025 at Sharon S.
Richardson Hospice.
She was born in Tulsa, OK on December 26, 1936, to the late Derby Calvin and Wilma
(Hendrix) Kersey. Chris was united in marriage to Dushan “Duke” Rupnik at Ss. Cyril and
Methodius Church on January 15, 1955.
Chris was a musician at heart. She belonged to 9 Hole Riverdale Ladies Golf League. Chris was
also active in Christian Mothers & St. Lawrence Guild.
Chris is survived by her two sons, Mark (Paula) Rupnik and Joe Rupnik; grandchildren, Rebecca
(Michael) Wallace, Matthew Rupnik, Rachel Rupnik (Brian Keery), Lisa (Ben) Williamson, Tia
(Griff) Rebecca, James Steinbreucker, Kaitlyn (Joe) Bloomer, Richard Rupnik, Thomas Rupnik,
and Jeffrey Rupnik; great grandchildren, Evan, Kayleigh, Isaiah, Kyah, May, Jayden, Charlotte,
Emma, and Jonah; daughter-in-law Miwako “Christy” Rupnik; sister Sarah (Larry) Minden; and
many cousins in Oklahoma.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Duke Rupnik, daughter Lisa
Ann Steinbreucker and son Randall Rupnik.
A private family graveside service will be held at Greendale Cemetery.
