Douglas F. Billmann, 73, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, March 16,
2025, at St. Nicholas Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Doug was born on July 17, 1951, in the city of Sheboygan, son of the late Gordon and
Joyce (Leon) Billmann. He attended school in Sheboygan Falls and then went on to
have an enduring career at Vinyl Plastics Incorporated, where he was employed for
45 years. During his employment, Doug was a member and Chief Steward of the
Local 1332 of the United Auto Workers. Shortly after starting his career, Doug met
the love of his live, his wife of 52 years, Barbara Zemke, and was married on August
17, 1973 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls.
Doug was an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his time hunting, fishing, and
camping with his wife, children, and grandchildren. In his earlier years, Doug spent
many nights playing on various softball teams with his family in attendance,
cheering him on. He excelled in the sport, winning championships and awards
through his softball tenure. Doug also enjoyed the comradery of time spent sport
shooting trap and skeet with his brothers, nephews, and friends, receiving many
accolades through the sport.
Doug is survived by his loving wife Barbara Billmann and his two children, Brian
Billmann (Stephen Nelson) of Madison and Brenda (Mike) Swann of Plymouth. He is
also survived by two grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Swann; brothers David
(Linda Mueller) Billmann, Dale (Karen Wirt) Billmann, Daniel (Lori Lemkuil) Billmann,
sister Denise (David) Scherbarth, and many nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Joyce (Leon) Billmann,
mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerome and Phyllis (Hoffmann) Zemke, and great
mother-in-law Helen Liefbroer.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in Plymouth, WI and a
public Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Uncle
Gunther’s in Sheboygan Falls.
The family would like to thank the staff of Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, St.
Nicholas Hospital, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the hours of
meaningful care given to Doug.
