Cora E. Blomberg, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday evening,
March 16, 2025, at Countryside Manor where she had been residing.
Born July 22, 1936, in Sheboygan, Cora was a daughter of the late
William and Frieda Rebensdorf Krueger. She attended Sheboygan area
schools and graduated from Central High School in 1954. On June 29,
1957, she was united in marriage to Jerome F. Blomberg at St. John United
Church of Christ. They were married for 62 years before Jerome preceded
her in death on September 28, 2019.
Cora was a baker at Park & Shop for over 20 years, retiring in 1990.
Cora and Jerry wintered in Florida for 17 years where they both worked for
Walgreens. She previously worked for the Leverenz Shoe Company. She
was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. She enjoyed camping,
sewing and collecting brass. Family was very important to her, she loved
spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter creating
many lasting memories. Cora also enjoyed Snicker candy bars and ice
cream.
She is survived by her children, Janine (Pat Pentek) Blomberg,
Sheboygan, Jodine (Todd) Edney, Sheboygan, and Jerome (Joyce)
Blomberg, Illinois; two grandchildren, Patrick (Angela) Pentek, Sheboygan
Falls, and Tyler “TJ” (Marissa) Pentek, Sheboygan; great-granddaughter
Irelynn Pentek, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Jerome, she was preceded in death
by her sister, Carol Brannaman; and her two brothers, Clyde and Carl
Krueger.
According to her wishes, private family service will take place.
Inurnment will be in the Chapel of Eternal Light of Greenlawn Memorial
Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dementia Innovations for
LIVASU to be built in Sheboygan Dementia Village, PO BOX 3, Sheboygan,
in Cora’s name.
The family would like to thank her daughter Janine for all the care she
gave their Mom and Grandma for the past 5 1/2 years, also the nurses and
staff of Aurora at Home Hospice and Countryside Manor for all of their
loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with
Cora’s arrangements.
