The Sheboygan Police Department is hoping to collect at least a few dozen “Sheboygan Rolls” during March, and no, that’s not an alternative for donuts. It’s the term the SPD has applied to those who don’t come to a full stop at stop signs.
If you hold a valid driver’s license, then you’ve already been instructed on proper stopping. Where to line up – looking for any oncoming traffic or pedestrians – and coming to an absolute zero miles per hour motion before proceeding. If you do those things, you’re in the clear; but if you keep moving without a full stop, you’re doing the “Sheboygan Roll”, and according to Sheboygan Police, you’re putting yourself in line for a ticket, along with putting yourself and others at risk of an unnecessary accident.
To spare yourself a ticket – or injury, the SPD reminds drivers to be aware of stop lines and come to a complete stop…or else you may be out the change needed to buy a dozen delicious, genuine Sheboygan Hard Rolls on your next trip to the bakery – the one on the street with those stop signs.
