Michael George Oostdyk, age 75, passed away on March 9, 2025 at Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice with his family at his side. He was born in Sheboygan on April 5, 1949 to the late Philip and
Shirley (Brill) Oostdyk. He was a graduate of North High School in Sheboygan. Following high school, he
first worked at Chair City and then began working in telecommunications. He was a partner in
ownership of O & W Communications. On August 25, 1984, he married the love of his life, Jackie
Wilkens, and together they raised four children: Theresa, Nicole, Jason and Andrew. He was a member
of St. John’s UCC, Sheboygan.
Mike loved spending time with his family, and was a doting grandfather to his ten grandchildren. In his
later years, Mike and Jackie loved going on vacation, especially to the Dominican Republic. His family
was the most important part of his life. Mike was a very soft spoken and kind man with a generous
spirit. The world could use more people like Mike. Mike will be deeply missed by everyone who had the
privilege of knowing him.
Left to treasure his legacy is his wife Jackie; his daughter Theresa Oostdyk and her son Ruben Emmerich;
his daughter Nicole (Nels) Higgins and their children Elliott and Emily (fiancé Emery Byus) Higgins; his
son Jason (Jolene) Wilkens and their children Autumn, Carson, Kinley and Bennet Wilkens, and his son
Andrew Oostdyk and his children Beck, Anders, and Foster Oostdyk. He is further survived by his
brother Mark (Kaye) Oostdyk; sister LuAnn (Jon) Tislau; sisters-in-law Pauline (Daniel) Burton and
Darlene (Richard) Rydzewski; his favorite Miniature Schnauzer Bubba and many other relatives and
friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Jackie would like to extend a special thank you to her family and her sister-in-law LuAnn for their
support. The family would like to thank the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Vince
Lombardi Cancer Center for their excellent care and compassion.
