Debra L. Escalera, 65, of Sheboygan, passed away on March 1, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center,
Sheboygan. She was born on February 3, 1960 to the late Ronald and Lorraine (Hartman)
Schroeder. Debra united in marriage to Fernando Escalera in September 1979 in Houston, Tx.
They celebrated 45 years of marriage just last year.
She was a longtime resident of Sheboygan. Debra was an avid sports fan; she did not miss the
opportunity to watch the Brewers, Bucks or Packers. She enjoyed listening to music, especially
country music. She always enjoyed her furry family, especially her cats. Debra loved her family;
she would do anything for her kids or grandchildren.
Debra is survived by her husband Fernando Escalera; children Joshua (Inga) Escalera, Sylvia
(Shane) Kopping, Priscilla (AJ) Gaffney and Fernando Escalera Jr.; eight grandchildren, Logan,
Mason, Aiden, Bella, Levi, Chloe, Cerena and Kiara; her siblings Linda Carr, Ronald Schroeder
and Randy (Tracy) Schroeder; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Tim Carr.
All immediate services will be private per Debra’s wishes.
