Floyd F. Thiel, age 94, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025.
He was born in St. Cloud, WI, on June 10, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Viola (Dreifuerst) Thiel.
Floyd graduated from St. Mary’s Springs High School in Fond du Lac in 1949. Following high school, he
attended UW-Madison before serving in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician
during the Korean War.
On June 30, 1956, he married Marion Daehn at St. George Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake.
Floyd worked for Wisconsin Bell-AT&T-Ameritech, retiring in 1984. During his career, he was well
respected by his peers, receiving many regional and national awards for his service in the technical
support and communications industry.
He loved to fish with his family and friends, he loved the Green Bay Packers, and he enjoyed spending
winters in Mesa, AZ, and summers at Crystal Lake.
Survivors include: Two sons: Greg (Sue) of Germantown and Scott (Heidi) of Pewaukee; Grandchildren:
Anntoinette (Ben) Charneski, Andrew Quinn, Alison, Colin, Gracie, and Nolan Thiel, Matthew Siesco, and
Caitlin (Josh) Corsten; Three great grandchildren: Jade, Luke, and Mila Charneski; As well as nieces,
nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Floyd was preceded in death by: His parents; His loving wife, Marion; Daughters: Chris and Susie; Sisters:
Betty (Dene) De Servi and Rosemary (Bill) Westphal; and Brothers: Orlando (Helen) Thiel and Joseph
(Ruth) Thiel.
Memorial Services will be held on March 15, 2025 (Saturday) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.
A time to gather will begin at 10:30am, followed by a prayer service at 11:00am. Inurnment will be at
Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

the extraordinary care and compassion given to Floyd.
