A substantial amount of the deadly drug, Fentanyl, has been taken off the streets following a traffic stop in Fond du Lac. That stop was conducted late last month when a Sheriff’s Deputy observed a vehicle blow a stop sign and followed the driver. Noticing the pursuing officer, the operator instead fled the scene at high speeds, prompting the use of a tire deflation device to slow the vehicle, which was eventually stopped using a PIT maneuver.
A 43-year-old Waushara County man was arrested and his vehicle searched, revealing over 38 grams – or nearly 1.4 ounces – of Fentanyl The man now faces charges of Felony Eluding, Possession With Intent to Deliver – Fentanyl, and 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. Given the subject’s 25-year history of criminal activity, bond was set at $25,000 cash as he awaits trial in the Fond du Lac County Jail.
