The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin has voted to reopen the application to construct a new, twin power line to serve expanding demand near Plymouth. The Commission met to discuss several items on Thursday, among them โ the application for the Plymouth Reliability Project by the American Transmission Company. The route selected by the PSC late last year has been the subject of objection by residents, conservationists, and public officials.
Sheboygan County Board Supervisor Suzanne Speltz had filed a letter last week, questioning the final decision on grounds that a full Environmental Impact Statement should be required, and by the time Thursdayโs hearing took place, Town of Mitchell Board Supervisors Ben Propson and Jennifer Buelow had also chimed in, as did State Assembly Representative Lindee Brill.
The board, however, was not going to consider reopening the application for anything other than removing an order concerning condemnation authority from the final decision, which ATC said was unnecessary and an error of the law. The Commissioners agreed, and will accept comments on that item until 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 13th.
