A fire destroyed a garage in the Village of Elkhart Lake on Thursday. Assistant Chief Keith Fischer reported that they got the call around 3:18 p.m. and the Elkhart Lake Fire Department was joined by Glenbeulah in response. The structure on Crestwood Drive was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived and units from over a dozen agencies converged to manage the blaze.
Elkhart Lake and Glenbeulah quickly attacked the fire and then received backup to assist in extinguishing it. It took the better part of three hours to complete operations.

Although several firefighters recorded falls on the resulting icy conditions, there were no reportable injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
