A podcast that draws attention to cold cases in the US is putting its detective skills to work in Sheboygan County. The Crime Junkie podcast released the first episode of “WANTED: Justice for Rhys Pocan & MMIW Part 1” on Monday.
Rhys Pocan was a 35-year-old Indigenous woman from Milwaukee who was murdered in the 1980s. The mother of four went missing one summer night and her dismembered torso was found in Sheboygan County’s Nichol’s Creek less than a month later. Her head and hands were discarded in Vernon Marsh in Waukesha County.
The case appeared at a dead-end until, according to the podcast, things “heated up” once they stepped in. Part two in the podcast series will be posted on Monday, the 24th. Part 1 is now available, and the video documentary of the case hits youtube on March 7th.
