Siegmund “Siggy” Bulitz, age 91, of Kohler passed away peacefully surrounded by his
loving family on Monday, February 10, 2025, at his home.
Siggy was born on September 27, 1933 in the village of Zaróbka, Poland to the late
August and Mathilde (Grams) Bulitz. In 1945 after several short-term relocations, his
family settled in Northern Germany near the town of Neubukow, where he met and wed
his wife Regina Bulitz (Grandl) in 1953.
In 1961 with his wife Regina and their two eldest children, Gary and Heidi, Siggy fled
East Germany and immigrated to Sheboygan County. He and his family stayed first with
relatives while he and Regina established themselves in America. They later had two
more children, Paul and Kurt.
Siggy spent 22 years at the Hayssen Company in Sheboygan, but was an incredibly
industrious man and later became happily self-employed well into his 80s. Starting In
1965, he and Regina bought their first family farm and eventually established the Bulitz
Pumpkin Farm. After retiring their farm from the pumpkin business in 2004, one of their
former pumpkin fields became Siggy’s Driving Range. Of all his ambitions, Siggy was
most proud of his reputation as a horseman. In the early 1980s, while also providing
carriage rides for daytime events, Siggy became an evening fixture at the American
Club when he began giving carriage rides to guests there. He loved nothing more than
to sit behind a team at the reins and engage his passengers in jokes and conversation.
In his free time, Siggy enjoyed traveling to horse and animal sales with family, visiting
friends across the state, wildlife documentaries, and fellowship over good food. Siggy
will be remembered by many as a friendly, humorous character and will be missed.
Siegmund is survived by his loving wife of over 71 years, Regina, sons Gary and Paul
(Debbie) Bulitz, daughter Heidi Bulitz, sister Eugenie Kölbl, and many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Kurt (Amy) Bulitz, parents
August and Mathilde Bulitz, and eight siblings.
Visitation for Siegmund Bulitz will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM at
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, followed by a service held there at 11:00
AM. Burial will later follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler, WI.
The family would like to thank the Aurora Hospice Care nurses, along with Pastor Bode
of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for his care and attention. Gratitude is to be extended as
well to Siggy’s daughter Heidi for her dedicated care during Siggy’s final 10 months.
Memorial donations can be made in Siegmund’s name to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Auf Wiedersehen Papa
