Sheboygan Alderperson Angela Ramey has decided not to run for reelection to her post in April. Although not formally announced, her decision was noted in minutes from the January 15 meeting of the Mead Public Library Board of Trustees. Those minutes report that Ramey had filed non-candidacy papers for her alderperson position. No date of resignation was mentioned, and there were no announcements made at either of the two Common Council meetings held since then. With that in mind, although Ramey’s term expires this spring, the minutes state that a new alderperson would be appointed by Mayor Sorenson to serve the remainder of her term..
Angela Ramey was elected as 5th District Alder in May of 2022 by the Common Council to fill the remainder of a vacant term, and was reelected to a two-year term in April of 2023. She currently serves on the Public Works Committee and is a member of the Mead Public Library Board of Trustees.
