
Barbara “Barb” Jane Brinkman, 88, of Sheboygan, WI, died January 29 at her home with family
by her side.
She was born March 16, 1936, in Sheboygan, WI to Barton and Marion (Nagel) Kroll. Barbara
graduated from Sheboygan Central High School, and then nursing school in Milwaukee, earning
an RN degree. She worked several years as a nurse at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. While also
having lived in Danville, IL, Milwaukee, Streamwood, IL and Lake Geneva, WI, she considered
Sheboygan truly as her home.
Barbara married John D. Brinkman in 1978 and they were together for 34 years until his passing
in 2012. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and stepdaughters Kate Hauert and
Patti Gollner.
Surviving Barbara are sons Scott (Marylu) Torrison, Loveland, OH, and Greg (Kim) Torrison,
Franklin, IN; stepdaughters Mary (Kym) Davis, Mesa, AZ, and Amy (Mark) Sagal, Sheboygan;
sons-in-law Paul Gollner and Tom Hauert, both of Sheboygan; sister Kathryn Jesinski,
Lakewood, WI; grandchildren Chris Torrison, Elizabeth MacBean, Leah Torrison, Chad Torrison,
Abigail Dailey; Jon Gollner, Bejya Freedman, Kalyb Davis, Jake Sagal and Cole Sagal; nephew Jeff
Jesinski, niece Julie Kern; 11 great-grandchildren; and her many beloved cousins.
She was an avid gardener, enjoying nature and wildlife. Barbara was a loyal member of First
United Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, and actively supported many charitable causes and
organizations.
A Celebration of Life service for Barbara will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00am at
First United Lutheran Church, 2401 Kohler Memorial Dr., Sheboygan, preceded by visitation
beginning at 10:00am at the church.
