A light snowfall is expected tonight which could make for travel troubles on area roadways. The National Weather Service said that an Alberta Clipper-type system will be responsible for spreading the snow from northwest to southeast Wisconsin beginning after sunset today, peaking between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., with flurries possibly lingering until 9 a.m. Thursday.
Although the duration is long enough, moisture isn’t available for much more than an inch of dry, fluffy snow. With temperatures only in the upper teens to low 20s, that snow could still cause slippery travel conditions.
Sheboygan County is well-placed for some of the heavier amounts…if one inch of snow can be considered “heavy”; however it appears likely that sunshine and temperatures in the 30s on both Thursday and Friday will eliminate whatever does fall in advance of a strong push of arctic air that, by Saturday night, will return us to the deep-freeze at least through Tuesday.
