The Newly-elected representative to Wisconsin’s 27th Assembly District has taken her first oath of office in Madison. Lindee Brill of Sheboygan Falls was sworn in during an inauguration ceremony in the Assembly chamber on Monday afternoon. Brill then joined only one other Republican who objected to re-electing Robin Vos to serve another term as Speaker.
The freshman representative said that she was “…honored to begin my first term as the representative of Wisconsin’s 27th Assembly district…” and that, “I look forward to working alongside my colleagues in the Legislature to make principled and meaningful change for all Wisconsinites.” She went on to assure her support for only those policies “rooted in conservative principles that will positively affect our state”, adding that: “Specifically, I will work tirelessly to protect human life from conception to natural death, to keep our kids and communities safe from harmful drugs like marijuana and fentanyl, and to promote confidence in our state elections processes, among other important priorities.”
Brill then pointed to her campaign theme which put Speaker Vos at the crux of Wisconsinites’ frustration with leadership of the Assembly Republican Caucus, saying that: “While I had hoped for a change in leadership, I remain convicted that we can deliver common-sense, conservative reforms for the people of our state this session. I will work with anyone in order to realize that goal.”
