Wisconsin Department of Transportation maintenance crews will be busy on Sheboygan County highways this week, with a “heads-up” issued for motorists needing to apply caution in work zones.
Guardrails on southbound I-43 were scheduled for repairs between 7 a.m. and noon today, requiring a lane closure to accommodate the workers. Another set of guardrails will be addressed on Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. involving both directions of I-43 at Highway 42 north of Sheboygan. Lane closures will again be in place. Another crew will be busy on Wednesday repairing the guardrail at the I-43 southbound ramp to Highway 23 westbound between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., again imposing a lane closure for safety.
Highway 57 is in line for guardrail repair in both directions at County Highway “A” and County Road “S” on Thursday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. That operation will require a flag crew to control the traffic flow.
As always, weather could affect schedules, and drivers are urged to move over, slow down and be extra cautious in work zones for the safety of workers and drivers alike.
