Trees will soon be popping up in numbers on parkways in the City of Sheboygan. Not that it’s the growing season, but the “throwing out” season for those who displayed real Christmas trees over the holiday.
Collections began today and will run through the end of the month. City residents will have trees collected for recycling on the same day as the regular pickup and must be placed at the curbside…no alley pickups take place. The tree must be clean of all decorations and should not be placed in plastic bags. Wreaths will also be accepted – those should be put with the regular curbside garbage.
If it works better for you, the City’s Recycling Center on New Jersey Avenue also accepts the trees in the designated area for branches. Trees will be ground into wood chips that will then be made available to the public at no charge.
