Anna “Annie” M. Hand, age 75, of Cascade, died on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at her home. She was born in Watertown, New York on January 14, 1949, to the late Rodrick and Mary Anderson O’Neill.
She attended local schools in the Watertown area and graduated from Watertown High School in 1967. On May 28, 1970, she was united in marriage to Thomas Hand in Jacksonville, Florida.
Annie was employed in the quality control department at Times Printing in Random Lake for over 10 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, tending to her flowers, hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. Annie also was an avid reader, animal lover-especially humming- birds, and a good horror or sci-fi movie was a favorite as well.
One of Annie’s proudest achievements was when she took 2nd place in a cosmetology competition in 1975 at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, and she was instrumental in the creation of the Cascade First Responders. Annie was known for having an open door in the neighborhood, she welcomed into her home many of her children’s friends throughout the years.
Survivors include her husband, Tom, of Cascade; four children, MaryJo (Mike) Stumpf, of Tullahoma, TN, Eric (Stacey) Hand, of Kiel, Andrea (Bob) Durdin, of Plymouth, and Cory Hand, of Cascade; and her three grandchildren, Brody and Taylor Stumpf, and Angela Eigenberger. Annie is further survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Bridget Hand, and her two sisters, Sharon Entringer and Cyndy Collins.
In accordance with Annie’s wishes, no service will be held, and a cremation will take place.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all the care that was given to her. A special thank you goes to her good friend Raynel Grahobac, for her constant support, helpfulness, and compassion for both Annie and Tom during this difficult time.
