If you’d like to become involved in the planning of library services in Sheboygan and Ozaukee Counties, then there’s an open opportunity for you. The County is looking for two citizens to apply for appointment to the Joint County Library Planning Committee. The County Board created the committee to review and revise the current county library service plan that expires at the end of 2025. The new five-year plan will be developed over the course of between four and six meetings during the coming year. Besides updating the current plan, a survey of library services will be conducted; the board will hold any needed public hearings, and in the end submit a final report along with its updated plan.
Of the two appointments to be made, one will concern a citizen residing in a town or village that does not operate a public library, and the other will be from a municipality that does operate a public library. Applicants should send a letter of interest and brief resume to the County Administrator no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9th.
