A Wisconsin Lottery player in Sheboygan made history on Tuesday, having won the largest Fast Play Progressive Jackpot since the game’s debut as part of the Wisconsin Lottery on April 23, 2023. The identity of the winner was not immediately released. However in Wisconsin, the lottery must, upon request, release the name and city of the winner. Any other information is released only with the winner’s consent.
The lucky player won 100% of the $583,746 Progressive Jackpot by purchasing a winning $10, 50-Times-The-Money ticket at Jake’s Wines and Liquor on South Business Drive. The winning jackpot eclipsed the previous Fast Play jackpot record of $403,497 won from a ticket sold by the Bread and Butter Shop in Nekoosa in 2023.
Unlike other Lotto games, the Fast Play Progressive Jackpot can be won as soon as the ticket is purchased. The amount of the Progressive Jackpot won depends on the ticket price purchased by the player. $1 tickets win 10% of the jackpot, $2 tickets win 20%, $5 tickets win 50% and, as was the case in Sheboygan, a $10 ticket wins 100% of the jackpot.
There was another winner when that record ticket was sold, as the retailer which sells a winning ticket worth over $599 will receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000. In the case of Tuesday’s purchase, Jakes will receive $1,167.50. The odds of winning the Fast Play Progressive Jackpot are 1 in 240,000.
The Wisconsin Lottery returns 93% of its revenue to winners, retailers, and Wisconsin homeowners. Since 1988, revenue generated includes more than $19.1 billion in total, with over $10.8 billion in prizes paid, and more than $5.7 billion in funding for property tax credits to eligible Wisconsin homeowners.
