Alan D. Holle, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
Alan was born July 29, 1943 in Sheboygan, the son of Bernard and Harriet (Verhulst) Holle. He graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1961. On September 15, 1962 he was united in marriage with Mary Lee Buyze at CRC in Oostburg. For 36 years, Alan worked as a mason for Cedar Grove Block and Construction. He retired in 2005
Alan was a charter member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where he served as a Deacon, Elder and Sunday School teacher. He also was an active member of the Cedar Grove Fire Department for 50 years where he was a Captain and Safety Officer, the Lakeshore Pigeon Club in Sheboygan where he was an officer, and served on the Holland Guild. He raised pigeons for many years, and enjoyed playing sheephead, cribbage and completing jigsaw puzzles. Above all, he loved and cherished time with his family; he enjoyed celebrating holidays, birthdays and anniversaries together, and an annual trip with his siblings.
Alan is survived by his wife Mary Lee; daughters Wendy (Steve) Brockert of Lake Mills and Kim (Jan) Hoitink of Cedar Grove; son Phil (Laurie) Holle of Oostburg; grandchildren Ben (Dana) Holle, Jackson (Lauren) Holle, Alex (Tammi) Holle, Devin Brockert and Danielle Brockert (Gary Crosson); great-grandchildren Caleb, Evelyn, Nora and Lucy Holle. He is also survived by his sisters; Mary Gerke and Ruth Morrell, sister-in-law, Doris Buyze, and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, brother, Jay (Margaret) Holle, sister, Lois (Bill) Katheiser, brothers-in-law; Don Buyze, Leon Buyze, Jerry Gerke, and Roger Morrell, sister-in-law Jule Ann (James) Nyhuis.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, December, 27 at Faith Reformed Church, 243 S. 4th Street, Cedar Grove, WI, with Pastor Zach Tarter officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 2:00pm until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cedar Grove Fire Department, Cedar Grove First Responders, and Samaritans Purse.
