MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — There are new state charges against three men connected to a slate of false electors in the 2020 presidential election in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced charges on Tuesday against Attorney Jim Troupis, and Trump administration advisors Ken Chesebro and Michael Roman.
All three are accused of colluding to file a false set of Electoral College votes.
There are ten felonies against each man, one for each of the false Republican electors who cast ballots.
Prosecutors say text messages between the men and the electors show they knew the slate of electors were false, and that they sought to mislead those who took part in how those signatures would be used.
Each felony charge carries a sentence of 6 years.
