The numbers from the recently-concluded 9-day gun deer hunt are in from the Wisconsin DNR, showing Sheboygan County increasing the harvest from last year in agreement with the State of Wisconsin overall.
The recent 9-day hunt yielded 883 antlered and 1,027 antlerless deer for a total of 1,910 deer taken. That compares with 875 and 949 respectively for 2023’s 9-day hunt in Sheboygan County, and an overall increase of 4.7%.
Statewide, the 87,424 antlered and 100,009 antlerless deer taken both represented increases in the harvest, with overall numbers up 5.2% over the year.
Notably, the 2024 Wisconsin Gun Deer Season was the safest on record, with preliminary reports indicating just one non-fatal shooting incident between November 23rd and December 1st.
