Kathleen L. Theune, 78, passed away at home on November 26, 2024 with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born on January 25, 1946 in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the daughter of Theodore and LaVerne Reinecke. She attended local schools including Sheboygan North High School. On March 21, 1964, she was united in marriage to Philip Theune and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
She was an avid bowler and was part of many ladies and couples leagues. Kathy was also the secretary of the Tuesday Morning Ladies Coffee Clutch league for many years at North Bowl Lanes. She liked watching baseball and golf and playing sheepshead, cribbage and euchre. Kathy enjoyed volunteering especially with Rainbow Kids, Vacation Bible School, RCS and Kids Hope USA. She had various jobs with her favorite being working with her siblings at Reinecke’s Johnsonville market. But most of all, Kathy loved being a mother and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren at their cottage.
Kathy is survived by her husband Philip Theune; son Scott (Geralyn) Theune and their children Thomas (Gina) Theune and Cal Theune (fiancé Sydney); son Shawn Theune (special friend Sheila) and his daughters Courtney (Julio) Cerda and Hallie (special friend Jayden); brother David (Grace) Reinecke; sister Sally (Larry) Woods and great-grandchildren Dahlia and Freddie.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Theodore and LaVerne Reinecke; daughter Sheri Theune; son Philip Theune; sister Maureen Harris; brother-in-law Gene Harris; brother Erwin Reinecke and grandson Nathan Theune.
There will be a visitation for Kathy on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Hope Church, 612 Ontario Ave., Sheboygan, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Committal will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Sharon Richardson Community Hospice.
