Our sweet Josephine Armella Kalscheur was born battling the many health challenges of Trisomy 13, and arrived ready to fight the good fight. She passed away peacefully Friday, November 29, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family. She is now held lovingly in God’s arms.
Josephine was born September 23, 2024 to Derek and Sarah (Widder) Kalscheur in Germantown, joining her brother Luke who adored his “baby Phine”.
Her time on earth was brief, but filled with love, snuggles and stories. Her family cherishes her memory of their strong, smart and pretty darn cute fighter. She was the perfect mix of sweet and feisty.
She lives forever in the hearts of her parents, Derek and Sarah, brother Luke, grandparents John and Mary Jo Widder of Kohler and Armella Kalscheur of Ashton, uncles and aunts: Father Matthew Widder of Waukesha, Paul Widder of Kohler, Corinne (Randy) Gilles of Waunakee, LuAnn (Jeff) Bunch of Waunakee, Darrell (Rhonda) Kalscheur of Ashton, Laura (Scott) Ballweg of Ashton, Dale (Kelly) Kalscheur of Ashton, Julie (Brian) Hornung of Ashton and Dennis (Danielle) Kalscheur of Ashton; many cousins, other relatives and friends.
Josephine was greeted in heaven by her grandfather Reggie Kalscheur and cousin Joan Gilles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 Green Tree Road in Kohler on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00PM. Father Matthew Widder and Father Patrick Heppe will concelebrate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 10:30AM-12:30PM.
Josephine will be laid to rest at St. George Cemetery in the town of Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House or SOFT, a support organization for trisomy (trisomy.org).
The family would like to thank the staff of Children’s Hospital NICU for their compassionate care, support and love for Josephine and her entire family.
