Ann E. Oldenburg, age 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 24, 2024.
She was born on July 27, 1937 in Sheboygan to the late Elmer and Deborah (Jacobs) Nesst. She was a
1955 graduate of North High School. On February 23, 1957, she married the love of her life, Thomas J.
Oldenburg. Together they raised three children: Renee, Tracy and Mark.
Ann was always active in her community. She worked for many years as a CNA and Activity Aide for
Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, and was the activity coordinator for Maple Dale Senior Living Apartments.
As her family remembers fondly, she helped anyone she could, even if it wasn’t her job to do so. She
would organize ice cream socials, birthday parties, and Superbowl parties for the residents. There was
always a “slush fund” for the brandy old fashions, essential for any true Wisconsinite. She had an
amazing gift that is rare in today’s world: she genuinely wanted to make everyone feel loved and cared
deeply for all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved playing cards and dominoes. Above all,
she loved spending time with her family. She and Thomas were very active parents, attending all the
activities that her children were involved in, especially the Top Hats Marching Bands. They were front
and center at every game, and volunteers whenever they were needed. She was a doting grandmother
and great-grandmother, continuing the traditions and memories with the newest generations of the
family. Ann was a child of God, and was an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
The world could use more people like Ann.
Ann is survived by her children Renee (Tom) Kasberger, Tracy (Michael) Bender, and Mark (Renee)
Oldenburg. She is further survived by her grandchildren Brent (Kelsie) Kasberger, Blake (Jessica)
Kasberger, Nicholas Piekarski, Nicholas (Jen) Bender, and Gage Oldenburg, great-grandkids Aria, Miles,
Rylee, Kellan, Nola, Evelyn, and Bennett, sisters-in-law Marjory Oldenburg and Violet Nesst, as well as
other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her parents-in-law Erwin
and Viola Oldenburg, her siblings Karl, Marvin (Vivian), Patrick, and Patricia (Paul) Mueller, and brother-
in-law James Oldenburg.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice,
especially Leah, and the staff at Rocky Knoll for their exceptional care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
