Recent rains that fell even before the winter storm that passed through on Thursday have put an end to a drought in Sheboygan County.
The National Weather Service says that the 65% of the county that had experienced a Moderate Drought saw conditions abate, with 67% of Sheboygan County – essentially the southeast half – experiencing abnormally dry conditions, but it seems unlikely at this point that drought would return any time soon.
The 3-month outlook for December through February from the Climate Prediction Center indicates equal chances of temperatures falling either above or below normal for the winter, while precipitation forecasts are leaning slightly toward a surplus of moisture.
