Joyce Janice Cora (Metscher) Zeinemann, age 97, Sheboygan Falls, was called to her heavenly home
early Tuesday morning November 19 th at Pine Haven Christian Home, where she had resided for the past
2 years. Joyce is the daughter of the late Wilbert and Lydia Metscher. Joyce always had a warm smile
for everyone, loved and enjoyed her family, making holidays a special event and being on the golf course
and walking.
Joyce’s education started at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, through the 4 th grade. Her family
moved to the south side of Sheboygan, where they joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was
enrolled in the 5 th grade where she met her future husband, Alfred; she graduated from Central High in
1945. She completed commercial secretarial courses and worked for Gehrke Sheet Metal, and as
executive secretary at the Armira Corporation in both Sheboygan and Bolivar, Tennessee. She was a
charter member of the Sheboygan Chapter of the National Secretaries Association. They moved back to
the Sheboygan area in 1987 and she became the secretary at Christ Lutheran Church, finally retiring in
1990.
On November 25, 1948, she married Alfred F. Zeinemann. Al preceded her in death in 2014. They will
be celebrating their 76 th anniversary in heaven together. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem
Lutheran Church being an active member of the Mother’s Club when her children were young, Lutheran
Women’s Missionary League and sang in the church choir.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Philip) Jens of Oostburg and Steven (Anna Mae) Zeinemann of
Wausau. She is further survived by three grandchildren; Lori (Rich) Thiemer of Tomahawk, WI, James
(Jessica) Jens of Cedar Grove, WI, and Christina (Kyle) Lang of McFarland, WI, eight great-grandchildren;
Ashley (Brandon) Voss, Richard (Elizabeth) Thiemer, Tracy (Carol) Thiemer, Aspen and Ian Jens, and
Bradley, Ivy and Oakley Lang. She is further survived by great-great grandchildren, Delilah, Anthony, and
Ysabella Voss, Hadley, Brent, and Tracy Thiemer, and Richie Thiemer V. Surviving nephews and nieces
include; Jeff Perry of San Marcus, CA, Jennifer (John) Wolf of Boise, ID, Jodi Perry, and Julie Perry both of
Goleta, CA., Elaine Zeinemann, Ralph (Joanne) Zeinemann, Caryl Ron) Kolenc, Bill (Karen) Schlegel, Cliff
(Gail) Schlegel, Kim (Dennis) Ploetz, Glenn Zeinemann all of Sheboygan, Ken Zeinemann of Arizona, Mike
(Ramona) Winkelhorst of Seattle, WA, and Susan (Tom) Duderewicz of Strafford, NH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Deanna Perry of Goleta, CA. and sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law; Martin Zeinemann, Sylvia Zeinemann, Ruth Zeinemann, Rhoda Zeinemann, Carl (Rhoda)
Zeinemann, Lester (Marie) Zeinemann, Delores (William) Schlegel, Violet (Allen) Hilpertshauser, Sydonia
Lawrence; and brother-in-law Peter Perry of Goleta, CA, and nieces Debra Novak Milwaukee, WI, Sharon
Timm and Rebecca Bartels/Zeinemann both of Sheboygan.
Family and friends may gather at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan on Tuesday
November 26, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Patrick Niles will
officiate. Entombment to follow in the Garden Terrace Mausoleum in Lutheran Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pine Haven Covenant home for their loving care of Joyce this
past year, especially Heather, Mary, and Tricia and the staff of Sharon Richardson Hospice. Memorials
may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, or Sheboygan Lutheran High School.
