Nancy Louise Horn, 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Shores of Sheboygan.
Nancy was born on March 12, 1939, to William and Wilma (Stirdivant) Geltemeyer in Sheboygan. She grew up in Sheboygan Falls, graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School, and was a proud member of the high school bowling team. Nancy attended Valparaiso University for a semester before she was united in marriage to Kenneth Horn. Together, they had four sons.
Nancy, along with Ken and his parents, started and founded Horns RV Center in 1972, working there until her retirement in 2000. Following retirement, she moved to Woodruff, WI, where she had built her dream home overlooking Lake Minocqua. She enjoyed being involved in the northwoods community by volunteering for Meals on Wheels, taking people to appointments, and being a member of the Red Hat Society.
In Woodruff, Nancy started a second career in banking and worked at Citizen’s Bank for several years, before retiring as teller supervisor. Following her employment at the bank she served as treasurer for the Town of Woodruff. Over the years, Nancy enjoyed hosting many gatherings for her high school classmates at her lake home. Nancy enjoyed lunches and breakfasts with friends, reading, playing Bridge, and gardening. More than anything, she loved spending time with family and friends and opening her home to everyone.
Nancy is survived by her children, Greg (Ingrid) Horn of Sheboygan, Terry (Debbie) Horn of Plymouth, Kurt (Crickett) Horn of Tennessee, Tom (Lisa) Horn of Sheboygan Falls; granddaughters, Stephanie (Justin) Herbst, Mishka (Cody Ewald) Horn; great-grandchildren, Aiden Horn, Aubrie Bourelle, and Izzy Herbst; brother, David (Pat) Geltemeyer; former spouse and dear friend, Ken Horn; and sister-in-law, Bernice Walter. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, Scott (Julie) Geltemeyer, Todd (Darcy) Geltemeyer, Chris (Tsvety) Geltemeyer, Kari Geltemeyer, Kyle (Jillian) Geltemeyer, Linda Hulbert Ertel, Allen Reinl; other relatives, friends, and the Horns RV Center staff, who became family over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, George and Emilie Horn; and brother, Gary Geltemeyer.
A private family celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at a later date.
