Marjorie “Marge” M. Schwoerer, 96, of Sheboygan, was called home to her Lord and Savior peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Marge was born March 3, 1928 on the family farm in Chilton, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Salm) Juckem. She attended school in Chilton. On October 10, 1951 she was united in marriage with Hugo A. Schwoerer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chilton. The couple celebrated 66 years of marriage before Hugo’s passing in 2017.
She and Hugo raised their family on a 70-acre hobby farm in the Town of Mosel where they provided a warm and loving home, and many wonderful memories for their 7 children.
For nearly 10 years, Marge worked as a nursing aide at Sunny Ridge in Sheboygan.
A woman of strong, steadfast faith, Marge was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church where she sang with the funeral choir, and was a member of the Christian Mothers at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. She took a once in a lifetime trip to Medjugorje with her brother Joe and niece JoAnn.
A skilled porcelain artist, Marge both studied and instructed for many years. She enjoyed oil painting, gardening, flowers, cooking, baking, canning and sewing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Marge is survived by five daughters: Carolyn (Cary) Underhill of Howards Grove, Cathy (James) Kesner of Sheboygan, Christy (James) Valukas of Kiel, Mary (Joseph) Winscher of Sheboygan and Patti Schwoerer (Pat Chilton) of Sheboygan; two sons: Gerald (Nicki) Schwoerer of Chippewa Falls, WI and Steven (Kim) Schwoerer of Sheboygan; 13 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sister Gertrude Kabat of Chilton; brother Joseph Juckem of Kaukauna; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Hugo, her parents; parents-in-law Frank and Ida Schwoerer; grandson Timothy Schwoerer; brothers Francis (Bernice), Edwin (Maxine), Henry (Vera) and Richard Juckem; brothers-in-law Walter Wenig, Norbert Kabat, and Herb, Leo, Alphonse and Norbert Schwoerer; sisters-in-law Ida Juckem, Alvina (Clem) Shanahan, Sylvia (Ralph) Meyer and Rita (John) Muehlbauer; step-granddaughter, Sunshine Sommer; and dear friend Joan Brennan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2133 North 22nd St., Sheboygan on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11am with Father Dennis Beltre officiating. A burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 2pm until 5 pm, and again at church on Monday from 10am until the time of Mass at 11am.
A memorial fund is being established in her name for the Tim Schwoerer Memorial Scholarship Fund and St. Dominic Catholic Church.
