An area dairy cooperative has joined under an umbrella with the Dairy Business Association and Minnesota MIlk Producers Association to form the new brand, the Voice of Milk. The new group aims to work on both state and federal policy throughout the Midwest.
Edge and Dairy Business Association CEO Tim Trotter emphasized that the move was neither a merger nor acquisition, but an alignment of strengths that will give member farmers a stronger, more powerful voice.
Minnesota Milk Director, Lucas Sjostrom, added that it’s important that the groups advocate together for “sensible, scientifically sound and sustainable policies and regulations at the local, state and federal levels.”
The organization is making its debut at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, now underway through Friday.
