Steven C. Ponath died on July 20, 2024. He was born in Sheboygan on August 11, 1960, the 3 rd
child of Roger & Helen (Yuhas) Ponath. Steve attended North High School in Sheboygan. Steve
was a first responder for the Town of Sheboygan Falls for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Ponath; his mother, Helen Ponath and his
brother, Roger E. Ponath.
He is survived by his sister, Suzanne Ponath of Sheboygan; his brother Tom Ponath of Denver,
Colorado; his sister-in-law, Sally Ponath; his nephews, Erich (Liz) Ponath, Scott (Jenny) Ponath
and Jackson Ponath and long-time friend, Rich Bohlman. He is further survived by his wife, Cheri
Ponath; step-son, Matthew (Olivia) Zeman; step-daughter, Michelle (Rob) Lewis; step-
grandchildren, Madison, Charlotte, Greta and Molly Zeman and Alana and Nolan Lewis.
A service will be held on Friday, July 26 th at 5 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N 8 th St. in
Sheboygan with Rev. Bryan Osladil officiating. A time for visitation will be on Friday at the
funeral home from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steve’s name can be made to the Town of Sheboygan Falls Fire
Department, N5480 Co Rd TT, Sheboygan Falls, WI 53085.
