A small airplane that went down in a farm field a short distance from the EAA’s Airventure-Oshkosh on Tuesday took the lives of two persons. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office has now identified them as 37-year-old Sean M. Tommervik, formerly of El Paso, Texas, and most recently of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and 32-year-old James G. Sullivan, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee, who recently moved to Brooklyn, New York.
The County Medical Examiner said that while the ID’s are preliminary, there is no reason to believe the occupants were anyone other than those identified. The plane involved was a Lancair Super ES with registration number N18BG, which is registered to Mr. Tommervik as the owner.
The NTSB is continuing its investigation, and will release more information at a later date.
