The suspect in a July 5th stabbing in Sheboygan is facing life in prison if convicted of the crime. 34-year-old Zachary Kent Little was charged in Sheboygan County Circuit Court on Wednesday with First Degree Intentional Homicide. The charges indicate that Little inflicted sixteen stab wounds to a roommate that shared a residence in the 1700 block of South 25th Street shortly before 5 p.m. one week ago today.
Sheboygan Police responding to the scene found the unnamed victim with numerous wounds in the driveway of the home with a citizen holding towels on him. The victim was able to identify Little as the attacker and describe the circumstances of the events before passing away. Police later needed to break down the front door before arresting Little as he attempted to leave through a bedroom window.
Little, who said he thought the victim had a gun and was going to shoot him, also told police that he’d been reducing the medication he was taking for mental health issues, but didn’t know if that affected his behavior, possibly setting the stage for a mental health defense. Bond was set at $1 million, and a competency hearing was set for July 18th.
