Motorists traveling through Howards Grove on Highway 42 will encounter construction crews for the next several months as resurfacing operations take place beginning on Monday.
The Wisconsin DOT advised of the project on Thursday, with the $550,000 contract signed with Vinton Construction of Manitowoc. It involves just under a mile of the route from the Pigeon River through the north Village limits.
Traffic won’t be interrupted entirely as flagging operations will be used while the road is given a mill and overlay, and curb ramp improvements are made to meet ADA requirements. Completion of the project is anticipated by the end of September.
