A Manitowoc man is recovering from an apparent self-inflicted knife wound while in jail after allegedly attacking another person.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says that they were called to a Township of Two Rivers address on July 4th in response to reports of a female being stabbed. They arrived to find a 51-year-old woman in the back yard with multiple stab wounds and other injuries. Inside the home, 62-year-old Calvin Eis was located with a stab wound to his abdomen. Both were transported by ambulance for treatment, and Eis was jailed with bail set yesterday at a half million dollars.
Eis faces charges of Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Battery and Strangulation/Suffocation – all three Domestic Violence Offenses – as well as Possession of a Schedule-2 Narcotic. No further information was released as the crime remains under investigation.
