James “Jim” Chisholm, age 82, of Elkhart Lake, WI, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024 at
Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility in Plymouth.
He was born on August 19, 1941 in Plymouth, WI, the oldest son of the late Harry and Norma
(Eitrem) Chisholm.
Jim graduated from Waldo High School in 1959 and married June Berth on May 29, 1965 at
Saron United Church of Christ in Johnsonville.
Jim worked in sales for 14 years before he went out on his own. He was a true entrepreneur
creating and building companies like Chisholm Graphics and Felins surrounding himself with
good people that became part of his family. His work with Felins allowed him to travel the
world and earned him the WI Governor’s Export Achievement Award for the Best Small
Business. As as a way to enjoy his retirement at 70-years-old, he bought Palo Popcorn in
Sheboygan Falls.
He loved to travel and made many friends around the globe. His annual trips to Canada to fish
with his son, Scott, and all their friends, were always a favorite. He enjoyed trips to Daytona to
go to the races with his brother Jon. Over the past 30 years, he spent his winters in sunny
Bonita Springs with his wife June. He loved God and his family, traveling and learning new
things every day.
It was Jim’s encouragement that led his kids to start a business in Elkhart Lake. He found a
historic Brunswick Bar for the Paddock Club and enjoyed spending time at the restaurant.
Eating at the bar with his wife June and meeting new people was his favorite way to enjoy
dining out.
He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth and First Presbyterian
Church in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Survivors include his wife, June; children, Cheri (Joe) Hau, Kimberly Chisholm, Scott (Tiffany)
Chisholm, and Lynn Chisholm; five granddaughters, Alli Hau (J.B. Sivanich), Kelsey (Nathaniel)
Wolf, Sophie Hau (Adam Gale), Elsa Chisholm, and Lydia Chisholm; two great-grandchildren,
Hudson and Willa Wolf; brother, Jon (LuAnn “Betsy”) Chisholm; sister-in-law, Diane DenBoer;
brother-in-law, Daniel Berth; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Christopher Chisholm; and brothers-in-law,
Jerry DenBoer, Dave Berth, and Karl Berth.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday (July 10th, 2024) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth
from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM; with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM. Pastor Andrew Thompson,
Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in
Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Jim’s name for St. John Lutheran
School.
