(Reuters) – An area of low pressure located about 175 miles north-northeast of the northern Bahamas has 50% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Thursday.
“Environmental conditions remain marginally conducive for additional development and this system could become a tropical depression,” the Miami-based forecaster said.
NHC added that the system is expected to approach the northeastern coast of Florida or the Georgia coast early on Friday.
