DETROIT, MI (WHBL) – Jake Rogers belted a three-run homer to cap an eight-run fifth inning as the Detroit Tigers blasted the Milwaukee Brewers 10-2 to avoid a three-game sweep at Comerica Park in Detroit on Sunday afternoon.
Bryse Wilson got the loss after giving up seven runs over four-plus innings. The Brewers’ offensive highlight came from Brice Turang, who recorded an RBI triple in the seventh inning as Milwaukee remains first in the NL Central at 38-27.
Gio Urshela and Zach McKinstry drove in two runs apiece for the Tigers, who snapped a three-game skid. Tarik Skubal struck out 10 over six-and-two-thirds innings of one-run ball as he improved his record to 8-1 on the season.
The Brewers will begin a six-game homestand Monday night when they welcome the Toronto Blue Jays to American Family Field for game-one of a three-game series.
