KANSAS CITY, MO (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers evened their series with the Kansas City Royals after a 6-5 win at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Brewers trailed by a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning until Willy Adames blasted a three-run homer to secure the lead and eventual win.
Jared Koenig earned his third victory after pitching an inning and a third of scoreless relief. Trevor Megill secured his third save of the season after striking out one in a scoreless bottom of the ninth.
Rhys Hoskins and Joey Ortiz also homered for the Brew Crew as Milwaukee improves to 21-14.
For the Royals, James McArthur suffered the loss after allowing three runs on three hits over an inning of relief. Vinnie Pasquantino went three for five with three runs batted in.
The rubber match of the series takes place Wednesday afternoon with pregame coverage on WHBL starting at 12:35.
