BRASILIA (Reuters) – Brazil’s government debt as a share of gross domestic product increased to 75.0% in January from 74.3% the month before, central bank data showed on Thursday.
The Brazilian public sector posted a primary surplus of 102.146 billion reais ($20.66 billion) for the month, while economists polled by Reuters were expecting a 99.45 billion reais surplus.
