The Executive Director of Sheboygan’s Above and Beyond Children’s Museum has announced her resignation from that office. Jackie Erdman made the announcement on Monday, after having served in her current capacity since April of 2020. She’d previously served as Executive Director of Sheboygan Theatre Company, and on the staff of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Gallery 224 in Port Washington and at UW-Milwaukee.
During her tenure, Erdman led her team in building the All-Abilities Purple Octopus Playground, oversaw the museum’s reopening following a winter flood causing ice damage on Christmas Day 2022, and spearheaded the design and installation of the museum’s first rotating multi-cultural exhibit, “The Culture Exchange”, initially highlighting the Hmong culture. Erdman was also instrumental in expanding sensory sensitivity offerings, including the opening of the Calming Corner exhibit.
Erdman said that she plans to pursue her professional goals while prioritizing her young family. In her absence, the museum plans to realign strategies for continued growth and fundraising while continuing to enhance programs and offerings.
Above and Beyond said it will actively search for a new Executive Director. Anyone interested in filling the position is being directed to contact President of the Board Tim Saeger via email at timothy.saeger@thrivent.com.
