MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — An attorney for Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says a panel of former state supreme court justices advising him on impeachment of Justice Janet Protasiewicz isn’t subject to open meetings laws.
Attorney Christa Westerberg with American Oversight wants to stop that panel from meeting.
“It just boggles my mind that all of this could be done in secret to the point where we don’t even know who is advising the speaker on these issues,” said Westerberg.
Dane County Judge Frank Remington was skeptical of the Speaker’s arguments and ordered more hearings after the Dane County DA’s office completes an investigation.
Former justice David Prosser attended the hearing, but wouldn’t say who the other people Vos has consulted are.
