MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Pro-life groups demand district attorneys in Milwaukee and Dane Counties enforce the state’s 1849 law prohibiting nearly all abortions.
Pro-Life Wisconsin Legislative Director, Matt Sande, at the Wisconsin Capitol on Tuesday said the law remains in effect.
“And it’s very clear what it says. It prohibits abortion, the intentional killing of a preborn living human being,” said Sande. “The DAs know that, and the DAs know that this is what is now occurring in their jurisdictions. At Planned Parenthood on Orin Road, at Planned Parenthood on Water Street.”
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin resumed abortion services earlier this month in Milwaukee and Madison, citing a July ruling by a Dane County judge that the 1849 law is not enforceable for voluntary abortions.
