MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Tammy Baldwin is joining calls for Senator Bob Menendez to resign following a federal bribery indictment.
In a brief statement, Wisconsin’s Democratic U.S. senator said the indictment against the New Jersey Democrat, “spells out deeply troubling allegations.”
Baldwin added that Menendez enjoys the presumption of innocence until proven guilty and will have his day in court. But she believes it’s best for his constituents, the American people, and national security for Menendez to step down.
